And finally, so we can all understand the Omaha budget mess, KMTV Economist/Reporter Molli Graham explains:

Just in case you didn't remember in vivid detail the attacks, MSNBC was showing the 09/11/01 Today show which covered "live" the attacks in NYC and DC to reinforce the true terror that happened that day. Makes one wonder why the B52s haven't been carpet bombing the "tribal region" between Pakistan and Afghanistan since shortly after that day.
You know you're in serious trouble when a blonde is using her former cheerleader moves to explain the city budget shortfall. Now why didn't any of my economics professors look like that?
What I want to know is, is that the same way Suttle described it to her? I have personally witnessed him use similarly exaggerated hand gestures to describe the "Here's where we/it is now; Here's where we need it to be."
My money is on her copying his exact moves. Suttle is such a poser!
Please explain to me how your last sentence doesn't put you in the same league as Osama Bin Ladin?
A lot of people who live in the "tribal region" are just poor, ignorant peasants whose primary concern is finding enough food to stay alive until tomorrow. How would killing them, their children, their grandmothers, even their goats, change their minds in a way that would make them love us? The majority of them probably don't even know anything about the world outside of their valley, let alone anything about a country half a world away.
Those people had NOTHING to do with what happened in NYC on 9-11, but don't let that stop you from wanting to get your revenge by killing innocents.
All we have accomplished there so far is to assist in Al Qaeda's recruitment efforts. While you are at it, please explain whether you think that God will judge those that napalm children any differently than those that abort them.
I just left an invitation on Nebraska Republican Party Chair - Mark Fahleson's blog, to debate Nebraska Democratic Party Chair - Vic Covalt at an event to be held later this month in Alliance.
Vic lambasted Mark over a 'tweet' that he sent out last week and Mark replied via a letter to the editor of the Lincoln Journal Star today. Mark called Vic's message "silly." I think this would be a wonderful opportunity for Mr. Fahleson to demonstrate to all Nebraskans just how "silly" Mr. Covalt really is, while showing off his own wonderful ability to enunciate the policies and principles of the NRP.
Just think what he would have to gain. There will be a lot of Democrats there that he could persuade to switch to your party. Do you think he's up to it, or do you think he'll come up with some lame excuse to refuse?
BTO, you evidently subscribe to the "if we're nice to them, they will be nice to us" theory popular among liberals. Even a casual review of history disproves that approach and shows how adopting it led to even greater evils. The way you win a war is to remove the enemy's capability to wage war, including at least one generation of males along with whatever collateral damage that entails. We can't win against generations of cradle to grave indoctrination by Islamic fundamentalists unless/until we remove them. Did you not see the video of hundreds of people leaping from the burning floors of the world trade center buildings? In the end, winners write the history and better them than us.
Geouser, So instead of a war on terror we should be waging a genocide on terror (and by extension those that live within 200 miles of terrorists). Let me know how that goes. If that ever happens I'll join the sane amongst us by blowing my head off with my .45
BTO, I might join you in encouraging Mark to go clean Covalt the idiot's clock. However, it sounds to me like you are having a Democrat Party function and just hope to embarass a well respected Republican.
If you were to make it a 50/50 audience and charge $10 a person plus a food donation and have all proceeds go to the local food bank, I would be happy to call on our Party Chair to participate.
Alliance might make it difficult to schedule, but maybe there is a generous donor that would be willing to fly both Chairs out there for the event?
A bipartisan, political "dog-fight", for the sole benefit of helping to feed the hungry. Heck, Maybe it could become an annual event.
Nate E, If you think you must absolutely blow your own head off with a 45, I certainly don't have any right to stop you. I'd just remind you that the US constitution is not a suicide pact and, like it or not, the life of a madrasas indoctrinated 15-30 something Pashtoon jihadee is worth a whole lot less that any American life. It shouldn't be so, but it is even in their own eyes. BTW, feel free to substitute any other islamic fundamentalist group for the Pashtoons and the statement still stands.
I'll have to check with the event organizer, since it is his show, not mine, but I like your idea. Then all we'd have to do is convince the two Chairs to agree.
I do, however, disagree with your opinion about whose clock would be cleaned if such a debate took place. I think Mark has already publicly embarrassed himself enough with his "tweets" and LTEs. This could give him an opportunity to redeem himself.
OK, GeosUser, I get it, you are EXACTLY like Osama Bin Ladin. Thank you for clearing up any doubt I may have had.
The attack on 9-11 was done by a very small cadre of fanatics that were willing to die for their corrupt and distorted beliefs. They were not representative of the general population of the tribal region between Pakistan and Afghanistan, but you would be willing to murder countless thousands of innocents to prove YOUR "ultimate moral superiority."
Alert the media: BTO and an obvious Republican agree on something for the good of one of our communities!
BTO, I will rely on this blog to see if encouragement to the NRP Chair needs to be given. Just to be clear, if this associate of yours promises equal seating, can he be trusted to stand by his word?
And, as much as I would like to think that I have lots of power, I probably have about as much as you. I will encourage, but others will need to do the same, from both sides of the aisle.
A good healthy debate between the Chairs of our two political parties would accomplish a hell of a lot more than just having them lobbing nasty bon-mots at one another over the blogs and through letters to the editor.
Perhaps the event in Alliance would not be the most effective, or fair, place to hold such an event. How about we organize one in Kearney? That's pretty much in the middle of the state, it has appropriate facilities to host such an event, and we could probably get some assistance through the UNK political science department in organizing it.
BTO's a blowhard and his event is a bunch of the radical fringe in this state that normal Democrats refuse to associate with. BTO's important only in his own mind.
BTO--if I was Covalt, I wouldn't be seeking out debates with the GOP chair. I'd be seeking out candidates for office such as Gov., SoS, Treas and AG.
Also, I'm glad you post here.
Among other things, you've really nailed Lisa Hannah for being the despicable and dishonest person she is. (I have several D friends in the 3rd--they are ecstatic that she was finally ousted as chair--new people can now get involved who wouldn't so long as she ruled 'her' organization.)
I have nothing to do with the event in Alliance other than, as a county chair, I will have one vote there. If you consider every single NDP-3rd CDO delegate, and all the NDP county chairs the "radical fringe - then you are correct, because that is who the meeting is for.
If my presence there threatens you, then evidently my importance is greater than even I thought.
Geouser, By your twisted and insane logic anyone in Afghanistan deserves to die. Im glad our leaders are born with more brain cells than you were blessed with.
I don't know Don Kuhns personally, but I've read some of the things he has written and generally find myself in agreement with him. I can't vouch for his opinion of Mr. White, since I really don't know either of them all that well and know nothing of their relationship.
On the other hand, my thoughts on Anonymous posters that attack someone personally are well documented. I believe they are "spineless." I'll leave the feminine hygiene devices out since I believe they have a very useful purpose, and don't care to defame them.
Hey BTO, why don't you go kick Lisa Hannah's ass over on the New Nerd Net and leave this one to those of us that are to the right of Lenin? Maybe you need to drive a stake through her heart next time you take her out. hahaha
Why don't you go do that yourself? There is no further point in me arguing with Lisa, she only listens to herself - just like a lot of the folks here, on NNN, and elsewhere. As for why I keep posting here ... Sweeper says he doesn't mind, it's his blog, and, if you read at the top of each page it says, "Leavenworth Street - the talk of Nebraska politics." I'm a political beast, and a Nebraskan.
Although I recognize that Sweeper will always be to the right of me, he enjoys hearing both sides of the issues. Would that more people were like that. He doesn't say that this has been the state's premiere source of conservative online political commentary and community-building. He built it as an open forum.
BTO--just speaking for myself, please feel free to post here. We should be the opposite of NNN and welcome diversity of opinion. (I've heard that a number of progressives have really had it w/NNN and the tone of their articles--is there a new blog starting?)
Today's OWH article updating on the safe haven law is on target. Seems to me the solution is to add behavioral health serivces for families that are is crisis, rather than the White approch of 'just dump your teens off at the nearest ER'.
I really don't do scales (the one in the bathroom scared me away from them!) but, overall, I think Vic has been doing a pretty good job. There are only a few things that I've had issues with, but then again, I am from the left-wing of what is still, basically, a very conservative Nebraska Democratic Party.
It seems to me the NDP would be getting someone out there ASAP for Treasurer, at least. I haven't really seen any D names floated, but I'm sure Vic is having back-room meetings on it.
Wow, a third of these posts were from B.T. Osboring. There must be nothing to do in Outstate Nebraska. Certainly it is your right to post, but I for one will skip your drivel when I see it pop up. And that has nothing to do Dems or Repubs. I would much rather read the common-person's "talk". Where did he/she go?
Wow, should I start referring to Leavenworth Street as The Village? It's feeling a lil' progressive in here and speaking of ... how about OTOC? I think it's time for a wholesale review of their congregational tax exemptions.
I watched the first two videos, but I've gotta admit, the topic of the third one didn't interest me mainly because I DON'T LIVE IN FREAKIN' OMAHA!
Maybe you don't "get" the concept of an open forum. I don't need the permission of Sweeper's anonymous guests to participate here. If Sweeper wants me gone, he can ask me to leave. If you don't like reading my rants, then stick to Glenn Beck's daily dollops.
I repeat...could someone please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please get their own blog so the discussion can expand to new voices instead one man hogging the blogging?
I agree BTO needs to get his own blog. He's also a hypocrit because he only goes after anonymous posters if he doesn't like what they say. If he does like it, he's perfectly happy.
Osboring, you have clearly crapped in the street and ruined the parade. Sorry Sweeper, you used to have an entertaining blog..... Signed, Anonymous #265
It was only entertaining to YOU when YOU were at the front of the parade. If you don't like what I write, write something of your own here. Oh, and just bitching about me doesn't count.
If all you are seeking is entertainment, there are thousands of other blogs out there that are probably discussing Kanye West right now.
So, according to the OWH, the father of the frat student in Lincoln has now filed a lawsuit against anyone and everyone with deeper pockets than the 9 or 10 students that have already had a suit filed against them.
The weird part, either they fired State Senator Tom White as their attorney or he is keeping his name out of the press now that it has turned into a money matter, rather than a matter of principle.
You see, in the initial story last Spring, Tom White was handling the case as it violated this young mans civil rights to be hazed. Tom White was being a press whore in getting his name in the paper then, why doesn't he want his name in the paper now?
Because State Senator/Democrat Candidate for Congress Tom White took the case because it was really about the deep pockets of the Fraternity, the University, and the mommies and daddies of the other frat boys-oh, and don't forget about the insurance companies that represent all of these groups.
Tom White is already a wealthy man on the backs of all his "civil rights violated clients" (he is apparently an attorney specializing in civil rights cases according to his website). Apparently, getting the frat shutdown to stop this type of heinous act from being repeated on another young man was never really the point, was it Tommie Boy?
Tom White wants all the cash that is rightfully his for his troubles of helping this young man. Sad, very, very sad. Maybe that's why he is running for Congress, he can't afford to practice law anymore because there just aren't enough civil rights violations happening anymore?
For those of you that prefer some substance to your political blogs, here's some fat you can start chewing on. Chrystal Lee Sutton, the woman that inspired the character of 1979's film, "Norma Rae", passed away because her insurance company wouldn't pay for the chemo she needed. Now THAT is what i would call a "death panel" decision.
My, my, the hatred towards Tom White already is astounding. This is going to get tiresome by November 2010. Can't wait until the Terry people are all out of jobs!!
Sorry, not a Terry Staffer at either office. Would love to see him leave the practice, he is an ass to other attorneys, but I don't feel it is fair to unleash him on the rest of America.
BTW, why is State Senator Tom White sponsoring events in Bellevue, isn't that Abbie Cornett and Scott Price's leg area? I certainly hope he used funds from his Congressional Campaign Committee, since that is the only office he is running for. Surely he isn't still using his Nebraska State Legislative Campaign Funds at this point? Everyone knows that he only raised money for the last 2 1/2 years so he could spend it on another race. He should donate his entire Legislative Campaign account (totalling about $40,000 last time I checked) to Nebraska HHS to help defray the costs of Juvenile delinquents being dumped in Nebraska because he threw a temper tantrum at the thought of State Law defining how old a child is instead of Common Law.
You're a lawyer, Tom White, are you too stupid to understand the laws in your own state?
I have an idea about how Omaha can solve it's financial quandary; it goes like this:
Sell the mayor's new Durango and use the proceeds to buy Council Bluffs (Iowa will be tickled to death to get rid of it). Then do a little paint-up, fix-up, maybe some carpeting, and flip it. I'll bet New Jersey would snap it up ... the tacky architecture, open landfill appearance, and general smarminess would go well with Atlantic City ... plus the casinos would fit right in. I can't see a downside.
Always glad to help.
BTW, any truth to the rumor that the folks planning the big NDP shindig in Alliance have rented a Porta-Potty? Not for a toilet - they plan to use as a venue for the meeting. It should be big enough, and most of the attendees are already used to the smell.
The NRP website has Tom White's House financial disclosure form posted for anyone wanting to comment on it.
I wonder if his $189,000 in salary from his law practice includes his fees for suing all those college kids, their parents, the national fraternity and the university of nebraska?
Ernie Chambers was blasting Douglas County Sheriff Tim Dunning and his CSI divison. Chambers said Kofed (?) was guilty, Dunning was in on the coverup. I believe Chambers called Dunning a "rat" and a "dirty rat".
There is a difference between being an equal opportunity truth teller and using your position to lob baseless allegations at people whenever you feel like it.
First of all, none of the people involved in this case or wrongly accused of wrongdoing is black or latino or green or blue. What the hell does race have to do with any of it?! And Chambers needs to quit being a race baiter and stirring a pot that is already done being cooked.
Second, unless Ol' Ernie had access to the Sheriffs crime lab, how would he know what the hell goes on or went on in their with regard to this case.
Third, why the hell does Ernie still have a program that he only got because he was a State Senator? Cox needs to pull the plug on that one. Give it to Brenda, I loved watching her on that show on channel 7 that she used to be on with Ben Gray.
I think Ernie owes Sheriff Dunning and the entire Learning Community an apology! I think I need to call my LC rep and demand that he be censured on the Floor of the Learning Community Conference Room, since I am sure he doesn't intend to give an apology.
David Kofoed was acquitted by a federal jury of tampering with evidence. The jury took a whopping one hour to find him not guilty. That's embarrassing to the prosecutors. Ernie Chambers can rant all he wants, but it doesn't change the fact that Kofoed was found not guilty. I doubt the state trial will come to a different verdict, but that's clearly the intent of Chambers' calling Kofoed guilty. Chambers is trying to taint the jury pool. The terms "stupid" and "incompetent" can be more fairly applied to Kofoed, and Chambers for that matter, but guilty? Good luck with that.
OMG, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes on Mark Fahleson's blog, but is the NEGOP REALLY offering football tix to the person who dredges up the most dirt on Tom White? REALLY? Has the NEGOP really sunk that low? We've become almost no better than ACORN. I'm ashamed to be a registered Republian in Nebraska.
Doesn't really matter who purchased them, provided they weren't purchased with taxpayer funds.
Me thinks the NDP is just pissed that we've pulled a page from their buddy Barry's playbook.
Besides thinking it is funny, I have a feeling that Mark is playing a game of cat and mouse and that he already knows where the body is buried. It's just more fun to watch it play out than to just jump to the OMG moment.
Kofoed was not charged with evidence tampering in the federal prosecution. He was charged with much lesser offenses, including mail fraud.
I laughed at your suggestion that that Chambers is attempting to influence the jury pool in the state prosecution -- I rather doubt that he has many viewers of his program in Otoe County. Heck, I'll bet Sweeper an adult beverage that Cox doesn't even broadcast those programs down there.
Like his ill-conceived complaint to the FEC, Fahleson yet again acts before he thinks. He and Boomer, along with Rubin and Russell, could set up a great consulting shop...somewhere on the eastern seaboard.
If the FEC posted paperwork within a reasonable amount of time and if Mr. White didn't spend the last 3 months clearly stating that he was in an "Exploratory" phase of a possible campaign for Congresswhen he was CLEARLY in an active campaign which has different filing rules with the FEC, then, perhaps, the complaint wouldn't have been filed.
But, is anyone surprised that Mr. White would try to play between the lines? It is the same game he played with Safe Haven. He decided at what age a child becomes an adult and to Hell with what Nebraska state law says.
Soooo, stay tuned for Mr. White's next attempt at not following the law, but not breaking it either.
Anonymous 6:46--I don't know about this financial disclosure stuff, but White's advocacy of no age-limit in the safe haven bill could not have been more of a blunder. The guy made a laughing stock out of NE--as people drove from all over the country to drop their kids off at the ER. Also interesting how he was in the press all the time on this before the bill took effect. When it quickly became an unmitigated disaster, he tried to go underground . . . no backbone.
I guess you are correct. He was charged with falsifying evidence, not tampering with evidence. But I thought the state trial was going to be in Cass County. In any event, Ernie Chambers should go back to his lawsuit against God and leave the rest of us alone.
Someone should look into Ian Russell's ties to an NDP fund set up for the purpose of helping legislative candidates out. Odd, isn't it, that he then went to work for one of the primary recipients of such funds?
I hear some Democrats are none too pleased with the way that money was set aside in the first place, the way it was handed over with no questions asked to Russell's firm, and Ian's very poor reporting on how it was spent (mostly on White.)
Probably not worth pointing out in this echo chamber, but White's name was nowhere on the safe haven bill. However, Stuthman introduced it, Pirsch took credit in the paper for brokering the compromise, and Heineman signed it.
Bull sh*t. He stated that he wanted it to be labeled as the ability to drop off a child based on what he determined to be a child defined by common law. He forgot that Nebraska defines a child as being under the age of 19.
Silly lawyer, what was Mr. White thinking, that no one would read the transcript or remember comments that he made in interviews at the time?
I surely hope that he gives his full time job a Hell of a lot more attention to detail than he gives to his part time gig in Lincoln.
Maybe if his Nebraska Legislative Staffer Ian Russell wasn't so busy working outside of the office, he would have caught this blunder and saved the people of Nebraska the embarrassment. BTW, how the heck did Ian get elected YD president when he didn't even move to Nebraska until 2003?
The Nebraska Democrat Party sure does like to support and elevate the imports, don't they?
Anonymous 8:32--you're right. Your post is 'not worth pointing out'. White was the primary advocate of the no-age provision--it was his baby and his fingerprints are everywhere on it, including to the press. But when the whole thing tanked, he tried to go underground. Ain't gonna work, White staffers. Incredible blunder and bad judgement on TM's part.
Lee Terry and the NEGOP are getting slammed on the Scott Vorhees show this morning for their stupid stunt in asking the people to find dirt on Tom White for Husker tickets!
Hello, Idiot at 11pm, Chuck Hagel grew up in Nebraska (as opposed to visiting grandpa and grandma once in a while on vacation), most of his family still lives in Nebraska, he returned to Nebraska after serving his Country in Vietman and then at several levels within the USO and raising funds for a Memorial to vets. AND, he actually owned and resided in property in Nebraska before deciding to run for office. I am no fan of Chuck Hagel, but I would never call him a carpetbagger or an import, Ian.
Johann's grew up in Iowa and as an adult spent his life building a family and career as an attorney in Nebraska. He held 3 elected offices before accepting an appointment from President Bush and then decided to return to Nebraska to run for office again. I will concede that I would have liked to have seen more time back home prior to running for office post appointment, but their is no way in Hell I could have taken Cowboy Kleeb and Miss Jane as my Senate couple. Besides, Jon Bruning would have kicked the cowboy's ass across the State, and he would have had a GREAT time doing it!
Democrat Op that showed up in 2003 during Barry Rubin's reign of terror in the Nebraska Democrat Party.
He quickly got elected to Young Dems President (in Nebraska, not Michigan) and then parleyed that into a cash paying job at the NDP where he proceeded to funnel state party money to his future boss Tom White. I wonder if he kept taking money for consulting Democrat candidates while being paid full time as a Legislative Staffer for the State of Nebraska by State Senator Tom White?
Ian also designed and is the contact person (or at least was for several months) for the Tom White Fake Exploratory Committee for Congress. I wonder if Ian was in his office in the State Capitol everyday doing the work for Nebraskans this Summer or was he hunkered down on his laptop using taxpayer time to design Tommie Boy's next campaign.
re- imports you are right Kleeb is a carbetbagger. Hagel didn't live here before he ran and Johanns is from Iowa. Just pointing out that criticizing Democrats for bringing young people to Nebraska is silly when you consider the imports you have exported to Washington. That's all.
When Hagel was a senator he came back to NE so infrequently that when he did it was news. Nelson, Terry, Fort and Smitty just do it and no cameras meet them at the airport.
Are you unable to read? I said that Johann's spent a good portion of his adult life here before he ran for any office. AND Hagel did not move here and begin running. He, AT LEAST, lived here long enough to build a custom home. I would guess at least 2 or 3 years before running for Senate.
If you are looking for a Republican carpetbagger, Fort would be the one-just saying.
You can't really criticize Fort for being a carpetbagger though. He moved here from some place else sure. He did, however, engage in local civic affairs and serve on the LCC before running for higher office. In my opinion, that gives him a leg up in the carpetbagger debate over others.
Agreed, I was just trying to beat the Dems to the point. Yes, we do have people that move here for ordinary reasons, to take a job, because they are transferred, to marry someone that refuses to give up "The Good Life", but the Dems seem to need to import real Dems in order to satisfy some need to be like a national dem.
To make a point, Scott Kleeb came to Nebraska for the sole purpose of running for office. Jane Fleming came to Nebraska for the sole purpose of getting to know Kleeb and help him get elected to office (she got it half right), and Ian Russell and Barry Rubin came to Nebraska for the sole purpose of bringing out of Nebraska style democrat campaigning to the conservative state of Nebraska. BTW, how well did Barry work out for you?
But the other issue is why are Tom and his posters here (Ian and Matt S.) so upset about people looking at his financial disclosure form. It is public info, right?

BTO--if I was Covalt, I wouldn't be seeking out debates with the GOP chair. I'd be seeking out candidates for office such as Gov., SoS, Treas and AG.
Also, I'm glad you post here.
Among other things, you've really nailed Lisa Hannah for being the despicable and dishonest person she is. (I have several D friends in the 3rd--they are ecstatic that she was finally ousted as chair--new people can now get involved who wouldn't so long as she ruled 'her' organization.)
Anon 4:07,
I have nothing to do with the event in Alliance other than, as a county chair, I will have one vote there. If you consider every single NDP-3rd CDO delegate, and all the NDP county chairs the "radical fringe - then you are correct, because that is who the meeting is for.
If my presence there threatens you, then evidently my importance is greater than even I thought.
Geouser,
By your twisted and insane logic anyone in Afghanistan deserves to die. Im glad our leaders are born with more brain cells than you were blessed with.
Q for BTO--
Do you know a guy named Don Kuhns? He posted at NNN saying Tom White resembles a 'spineless douchebag'. Your thoughts?
Maybe you need to drive a stake through her heart next time you take her out. hahaha
Anon 10:23,
Why don't you go do that yourself?
By the way ... Thanks Sweeper!
BTO--just speaking for myself, please feel free to post here. We should be the opposite of NNN and welcome diversity of opinion. (I've heard that a number of progressives have really had it w/NNN and the tone of their articles--is there a new blog starting?)
Q for BTO--you refer to Sweeper as a "he". Do you know that for a fact? Please advise!
As I wrote here before ... I AM the Sweeper! ;-)
Today's OWH article updating on the safe haven law is on target. Seems to me the solution is to add behavioral health serivces for families that are is crisis, rather than the White approch of 'just dump your teens off at the nearest ER'.
Second the notion that BTO should continue to post here!
BTO--on a scale of 1-10, one being best/10 being a failure, where do you rate the job Covalt has been doing?
9:54,
I really don't do scales (the one in the bathroom scared me away from them!) but, overall, I think Vic has been doing a pretty good job. There are only a few things that I've had issues with, but then again, I am from the left-wing of what is still, basically, a very conservative Nebraska Democratic Party.
Thanks, BTO. Just wanted your take on that.
Wow, nothing more boring than getting updated on what you want to read 9.39. I enjoy Osborn, if only for the comic relief.
Wow, should I start referring to Leavenworth Street as The Village? It's feeling a lil' progressive in here and speaking of ... how about OTOC? I think it's time for a wholesale review of their congregational tax exemptions.
BTO, I would be more interested in what you write if it was about Molli.
And speaking of which...I would have learned more from Molli if should could have talked about our taxes going up 2, 4, 6, 8 per centage points!
Hey FromTheBleachers,
Still got that bong lit? Who's Molli?
Hey BTO, I think you just proved that you are more interested in your postings and not looking at the subject de jour.
You really didn't get or see the Molli reference in Sweeper's post?
As someone mentioned above...stop hijacking this Blog and get your own.
From the BleachedBlondes,
I watched the first two videos, but I've gotta admit, the topic of the third one didn't interest me mainly because I DON'T LIVE IN FREAKIN' OMAHA!
Maybe you don't "get" the concept of an open forum. I don't need the permission of Sweeper's anonymous guests to participate here. If Sweeper wants me gone, he can ask me to leave. If you don't like reading my rants, then stick to Glenn Beck's daily dollops.
Must be a contact high. The first one isn't a video ... but if you stare at it long enough .........
I repeat...could someone please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please get their own blog so the discussion can expand to new voices instead one man hogging the blogging?
Does anybody agree?
I agree!
More than HALF of the posts on here are by somebody that goes by the name of ANONYMOUS!
I agree BTO needs to get his own blog. He's also a hypocrit because he only goes after anonymous posters if he doesn't like what they say. If he does like it, he's perfectly happy.
Anon 8:21,
So, dingbat, you would have me "going after" those with whom I agree? Have you and BleachedBlond been sharing that bong?
Osborn. I think all the anonymuses are just Lisa Hannah in drag.
JIm,
I'm not going to touch that one.
I prefer Johnny Walker, though Jim Beam is a solid drink itself.
Osboring, you have clearly crapped in the street and ruined the parade. Sorry Sweeper, you used to have an entertaining blog.....
Signed,
Anonymous #265
Anon 8:41,
It was only entertaining to YOU when YOU were at the front of the parade.
Talk amongst yourselves, I'm verklempt.
I'd rather talk about the greedy little State Senator Tommie Boy White.
I wonder if he will have the guts to try to introduce legislation benefiting his case during the next session?
That is hilarious. An anonymous mudslinger accusing someone else of having no guts. Hah!
You're a lawyer, Tom White, are you too stupid to understand the laws in your own state?
anony 11:17,
bet you can't wait til jr. high...
Hey Sweeper:
Bwahahahahahahahaha ...
OMG Wiggily,
You are so clever! Got any more potty jokes, or do you need Mommy to change your diaper so you can dig around for a few more ... jokes?
This discussion is quickly disintegrating to the level of a Kyle, Samp and Lisa Hannah staff meeting.
Any response from the Sheriff's office?
Ernie speaks the truth no matter who is offended.
It was all on Ernie's public access tv show.
The Sheriff's office just got slammed!
Dunning should respond otherwise people will not trust him.
Oh, and I'd LOVE to see a purchase order for those tickets. Who bought them?
Doesn't really matter who purchased them, provided they weren't purchased with taxpayer funds.
Me thinks the NDP is just pissed that we've pulled a page from their buddy Barry's playbook.
Besides thinking it is funny, I have a feeling that Mark is playing a game of cat and mouse and that he already knows where the body is buried. It's just more fun to watch it play out than to just jump to the OMG moment.
Have fun Mark!
3:41
Kofoed was not charged with evidence tampering in the federal prosecution. He was charged with much lesser offenses, including mail fraud.
I laughed at your suggestion that that Chambers is attempting to influence the jury pool in the state prosecution -- I rather doubt that he has many viewers of his program in Otoe County. Heck, I'll bet Sweeper an adult beverage that Cox doesn't even broadcast those programs down there.
Anon 4:46 -
Like his ill-conceived complaint to the FEC, Fahleson yet again acts before he thinks.
White staff--
Sound like you might be a little queasy about people looking at Tom's financial disclosure?
hmmmmm.
Mark F:
If you make the tix to the Oklahoma game, I'm in.
NE Voter,
I guess you are correct.
Imports?
Do you mean imports like Iowa's Mike Johanns and Washington's Chuck Hagel? those kinda imports? or did you mean something else?
Anonymous 8:32--you're right. Your post is 'not worth pointing out'. White was the primary advocate of the no-age provision--it was his baby and his fingerprints are everywhere on it, including to the press. But when the whole thing tanked, he tried to go underground. Ain't gonna work, White staffers. Incredible blunder and bad judgement on TM's part.
To Imports: Mike Johanns has been a Nebraska resident since 1970. Wouldn't president Obama be a better example?
I repeat, who is Ian Russell? Bio please for those not so well informed.
I wonder if Ian was in his office in the State Capitol everyday doing the work for Nebraskans this Summer or was he hunkered down on his laptop using taxpayer time to design Tommie Boy's next campaign.
re- imports
you are right Kleeb is a carbetbagger.
Mark should send a thank you note to Voorhees. The whistle blower pool just got bigger!
I agree.
But the other issue is why are Tom and his posters here (Ian and Matt S.) so upset about people looking at his financial disclosure form. It is public info, right?
Ian is afraid the statute of limitations hasn't expired yet.
Tom W. says Fahleson is looking for dirt on his family.
I read Fahleson's post. Nothing about White's family.
Is TW talking about another Fahleson post somewhere else?
What's the deal?
Anon 2:13--maybe not on that.
The other reason would be why was Ian not at the Capitol ever despite being on the state payroll?
Taxpayers shouldn't pay so Ian can play congressional politics on their dime.
The other reason would be why was Ian not at the Capitol ever despite being on the state payroll?
How do you know?? Was someone stalking him? Creepy!
Nope.
It's called walking by the office and it is closed and dark ... during the work day. All of the other legislators' offices are open.
Is Sheriff Tim Dunning is so freakin' tough then why doesn't he stand up to Ernie Chambers?
Dunning is all talk.
Republicans are desperate
