Raimondo concedes?
Was it just us, or did Tony Raimondo concede as soon as the clock struck 8?
See Tony essentially call it for Kleeb on WOWT.
Well...that was fun while it lasted...
(So will Mike Johanns be gunning for Jim Esch's endorsement?)

Guess a lot of people liked the cowboy hat. Way to go Dems!!!!
As I wrote on your blog months ago, we would do what was necessary to move Kleeb down the field. And we have. At that time, this blog was snickering at the design similarities between Kleeb's website, and Obama's.
That was only 4 months ago.
Hey Chowd,
We're still snickering.
Don't forget our analogy of some Williams College hard right conservative taking on Teddy Kennedy.
You seemed to understand that...
Speaking of the Mass. Kennedy's... I have heard of this guy who is from Omaha with the same last name (don't know if they are related)who I hear is really good at running campaigns...Tony should have used him, now Johann's better hunt him down now that Kleeb is on a roll. Mike is gonna need all the help he can get!
"Raimondo has made this race close and we give him a shot at pulling it off." -- Leavenworth Street
Wrong, SS.
Whadday mean, wrong?
He had a shot.
He missed his shot.
You'll note that we still predicted Kleeb.
Wrong on just about everything. Might have to be the new logo around here.
Excuse me?
We picked all three races correctly.
Note that there were those who were picking Raimondo outright, which we did not.
We missed the Johanns race by 5 stinking points.
And while we missed the Esch race by 13, we were still giving him an overwhelming victory.
Oh and by the way, we're not pollsters.
Feel free to show us where you wrote down all three of your predictions yesterday.
Speaking of predictions SS, you still have time to go back on this one:
"Barrack Obama will become the Hart, Tsongas, Bradley, Dean of 2008. A political footnote in the Hillary nomination annals."
We will as soon as every other political pundit in the world does.
I'll just settle for my six of Sam, Sweep.
C'mon, don't be a sore loser. I didn't make the provision that you'd have to deliver it to me in Antarctica, although I suppose you could have gotten Adrian Smith to pop back down there again and deliver them nice and cold for me. I understand he went down there a while back to interview a few penguins about the global warming issue.
Maybe Tony R can help you out with the expenses.
If Tony pays the way, I will meet you either in the London pub OR at the March of the Penguins Cafe. Your choice.
Either way, I will pay up.
The loser doesn't get to pick the terms, Sweeper. I won, I set the terms.
BTO,
You (proud) Liberal you. Terms are set by BOTH parties, PRIOR to the agreement. As I noted going in, I would pay up at the specifically noted pub.
And who says I'm embarrassed? You make your best guess in these races and you live with your pick. No shame in that. I chuckle at all the Wednesday morning pundits who just KNEW it wouldn't be close (where were they Tuesday?).
Anywho, if I can figure out a way to get you the chosen brew, at your locale of choice, I will.
Until then, I'll be more than happy to meet at the Bierdrome.
SS
What are you guys doing betting beer from Boston anyway? Don't you know there are plenty of fine Nebraska beers available for these types of political bets?
SS, you should go find a bottle of Upstream's barrel aged Ebenezer if you really want to show him how Omaha does it. I don't know if they can get that out in the 3rd. If that's too fancy for him, just go pick up a growler of the Blackstone Stout. It's tasty and it helps Nebraska's economy.
Sweeper, you're going to have to start a whole new thread on the nectar of the gods if we keep this up.
Eric, I've sampled the Blackstone Stout. It IS good!
We've got a couple of really fine microbreweries out in my neck of the woods worthy of your consideration. If you ever find yourselves in Kearney, try some of the concoctions brewed up at Thunderhead (winner of the 2004 World Beer Cup for its Black Sheep Espresso Stout) and Platte Valley Brewing (try their German Alt).
Eric is right, Sweeper, let's keep our $$$ in Nebraska. Fund me a couple pints of stout at either of the above mentioned pubs and we'll call the wager settled.
Street Sweeper, totally off topic and just out of curiosity, why Street Sweeper? Why that for a name?
"One who cleans up the street."
In this case, "Leavenworth Street".
(Verrrry little thought went into this name at the time of formation. Ah well...)
Yeah, and sometimes this street looks a lot like the River City Roundup parade has gone through here. Apt choice for a name.
Remember to clean up after your pets, Eric.
simple, yet profound. i like the name
