¡Feliz cumpleaños!

We almost forgot:

Leavenworth Street - the talk of Nebraska politics, turned FOUR yesterday.

Since our first post on January 17, 2006, we haven't missed a week.

Through work, vacation, summer, winter, elections, off years, births, deaths, blizzards and heat waves.

Leavenworth Street has been talkin' politics.

But most importantly, THANKS FOR READING!

And we'll continue to do our thing.

Thanks, Sweeper, for providing a forum for us to all say what's on our minds, even if I do go on forever sometimes. Sometimes one-liners and bumper sticker rhetoric just don't suffice.

Congratulations Sweeper! Do you think the OWH or any of the local TV stations will pay homage?

Ha! They'd have to recognize our existence first.

Thanks all, and thanks for reading and keeping the comments flowing. That has very much been the lifeblood of this blog.

Congratulations! I found this blog when I first got really frustrated with Chuck Hagel. It's been a great source of info as well as always entertaining. Now, if you just served finger foods with it, it would be perfect.

Merry Birthday.

Sweeper, this quote's for you:

"If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven played music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well." --Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Happy Birthday, Sweeper. I enjoy the mix. After spending a few days in Omaha, I think you need a Street Scooper blog. The Pip

BTW, I can't help but laugh at the ad at the top of the Blog for the Democrat Senators club.

Even on Election Day the stupid Dems can't figure out that the Massachusetts Senate seat belongs to the people of Massachusettes, NOT THE KENNEDY FAMILY!!!

The Dems in Washington deserve the a** whippin' they are going to get this year coast to coast, because of their arrogance.

So anything new on the State GOP ED hiring? I hear they have 3 great candidates with campaign experience. Looks like 2010 is going to be a bad year for Democrat Senators.

Somebody described the Leno/O Brien war as a fight between a man whose jokes nobody likes and a man whose jokes nobody understands.

But personally, I hope O Brien goes to Fox, because I like Fox and despise NBC.

Anon 10:07 This election doesn't belong to the people of Mass. It belongs to the consultants, party people, and flood of outside organizers brought in.....from both sides. Everything that is wrong with a two party system has come to a head in Mass.

Arrogance is not unique to the Democratic Party. It is not a sole proprietorship. I would have to comment that humility isn't one of the stronger points of leadership within either party.

Depending on who you listen to, this election will come close to breaking the GOP. They had just a precious few million in the bank, while carrying a greater debt over from the last cycle. What will they do for the other candidates?

Let the games begin.

Come join like minded Republicans as we celebrate what we hope will be a major victory for Scott Brown in Massachusetts. This is a spontaneous effort of local Republicans to not only celebrate an anticipated Brown victory but to send a message to the most destructive president in memory as we reach the one year anniversary of his inauguration.

Come join your friends at D.J.s Dugout (north of 114th & Dodge in Miracle Hills Shopping Center) tonight after 6:45 at in the back room as we toast to one victory and hopefully the turn around of our nation.

Please feel free to invite friends and associates to join us.

Lets just hope the NEGOP leadership picks someone with campaign experience this time...

Most people these days don't donate to the RNC, because they've too often seen the money channeled to creatures like Snarlin' Arlen Specter. They donate directly to candidates or PACs.

Last time the RNC called me, in 2004, I told them any money I had to give would go to the Swift Boat Veterans, who were doing something effective to defeat John Kerry. That was some of the best money I ever spent.

Funny, LOL! That isn't quite what Team Obama was saying a year and a bit ago.

In Omaha, alone, there were more "outside" activists, consultants and paid staff than there were locals (including the paid voters that Susie Q bought for The Big O).

BTW, did anyone hear that Berkshire paid a $50 million fine to end an investigation into its very own GenRe's dealings with regard to defrauding AIG investors? Maybe that's why the other Big O was so adamantly advising Members of Congress in both Parties how badly "we"(read he)needed TARP to pass.

Honestly, if we can believe the successful experts, who do we believe?
