Who needs two!

You'll remember a few weeks ago when Nebraska GOP Chairman Mark Fahleson placed a bounty, of sorts on Tom White's head.

The reward for any good info an industrious citizen could find in White's financial filing would be two tickets to the Nebraska - Kansas State football game.

After a brief amount of over-righteous vocalizing by the Dems, the Lee Terry camp even suggested that the ticket offer should be rescinded.

Well, Fahleson never responded to all the bluster, but now he has: THE TICKET OFFER GOES ON!

And on his blog, Fahleson points to Tom White's new FEC filing as one more source for the crowd to mine through for salient details on Tom White's campaign.

The funny thing about all of this is that with the K. St's ascendancy to the head of the pile in the Big XII north, that game may take on new meaning -- and the tickets may become that much more valuable. Heck maybe there are some Dems out there who so desire to see the battle with the Wildcats that they're willing to give Fahleson some heretofore unknown guff on White.

Of course, here's the deal: part of the job description for state party chair -- Dems and GOPers alike -- is "bomb-thrower". While this "tickets for info" deal was originally posed as some sort of sinister plan, after it has been around for awhile, it makes us chuckle even more.

If Fahleson would throw in a couple of big foam Husker cowboy hats, it would only sweeten the deal.

Goooooo Biiiiiiiggggg Reddddddddddddddddddddd!

Personally? I think all FEC reports should be easily available for every voter to see without the incentive of reward. Would that the OWH see its way to putting that above the fold instead of is National Inquier salacious yadda.

How about giving the tix to the first two Democrats who step forward to run statewide in 2010?

Dems had a good response:

It’s common knowledge that despite his decade in Congress, Lee Terry carries very little clout in Washington. According to Roll Call Terry has a ”power ranking” of 321, 1 being the highest and 435 the lowest, putting Terry in the bottom 26%.

Now, it appears that even the leadership of his own political party doesn’t take him seriously. One month ago, Terry’s campaign asked NEGOP chair Mark Fahleson to rescind his offer of Husker tickets in exchange for any damaging information gleaned from State Senator Tom White’s family’s financial disclosure forms. The NEGOP ignored Terry, and just yesterday Fahleson asked readers of his blog to expand the search to include other forms filed by White.

No wonder Lee Terry’s constituents can’t count on him to deliver – his own party chair doesn’t even care what he thinks.

The NEGOP's dissing Terry is the exact reverse of the NEDEM's problem with Senator Nelson. Despite there state central committee voting, nearly unanimously, to support a public option for healthcare, Nelson insists no one in Nebraska wants it. He's never heard of any.

Fahleson doesn't hear Terry. Nelson doesn't hear his party. Looks like both party's need to go get there hearing tested.

I wonder why John Murante is never at his desk in Senator John Nelson's office. I'll just have to keep checking up on him.

It's also interesting that Senator Gay's staff is constantly posting on Facebook during office hours - are they using vaction time to do that?

Anon 9:48, I hate to tell you this, but they are, and have been for more than a decade.

just go to the FEC website and click away. FEC.gov is the place to find all kinds of donor and spending info and you'll want to click the view download option. The rest is fairly self explanatory.

If they are posting on Facebook about Senator Gay and his activities in the Legislature, they can do it on taxpayer time and dime. If they are posting about Senator Gay's reelection campaign, they can do that on taxpayer time and dime. If they are posting on his kids sports schedules or his run for any other office except for State Senator in Nebraska, the taxpayers can't and shouldn't pay for that.

Sooooo, wy don't you ask Senator Gay what they are posting about or asking Senator Nelson where John is?

Oh, that's right, they don't have to provide that information to the public, it is work product and thus protected under the Law that Tom White put in place last year allowing such refusal to disclose and allowing the use of taxpayer dollars and resources to be used for any and all campaign behavior of a sitting State Senator.

Shame on you Tom White.

BTW, a sitting Congressman cannot coordinate activities or behavior of a State GOP office. It would be a violation of FEC Law. All he or she can do is express outloud their thoughts on the subject.

Hey--if the tix controversy kicks up again, all the better for Terry. He'll look bipartisan, again. Hope the Dem release gets coverage!

10:47--how long have you had this fixation with Murante and Gay? hmmmm. . .

Is White's State Capitol office open today? Report back...

Is it really appropriate for Judge Sandra Dougherty to be donating to Tom White?

Never mind, didn't realize she retired.
