Might wanna work on the sound on that. Doesn't seem to fit.

We'll get it fixed later tonight. Though, even off, it doesn't really mix it up to much.

Who is Jonathan Alvarado (sp?) from Univ Nebraska-Omaha? I have heard there is some race-baiting attempt by him to rally South Omaha against Hal Daub.

Anonymous said...

To all the Daub lovers out there predicting a huge victory Tuesday night.

Just remember there are some people who live in Omaha that do not like Hal Daub.

Daub will win big!

Happy Days are here again!

Look out firefighters!

(and illegal immigrants!)

Anonymous said...

Yeah, firefighters can have someone who looks out for them and their city, instead of just some unions.

And illegal immigrants can focus on not breaking the law.

Legal immigrants can rejoice that someone is looking out for their rights.

Anonymous said...

Amen, once we deport all the illegals and take away firefighter benefits then Omaha can be great again!!

Three cheers for Hal Daub!!

Happy Days are here again...!

I hope Subby Anzaldo will be Hal's chief of staff.

Hal Daub's 10 point plan for Omaha

1. Its Hal's way or the highway
2. Council Bluffs is still an X-rated city
3. crush the firefighters union
4. prevent any outside police oversight
5. deport illegal immigrants except the south Omaha businessmen that support Daub
6. destroy any political opponents
7. first helicopters, now tanks
8. tolleys
9. expansion of Rick's boatyard
10. new hairstyle every two years

take that Doug Sassy!

Daub shows why Suttle is staying away from specifics: tax credits for home improvements? Huh? How's he going to do that? What part of the property tax code does he have control over? That was a completely worthless proposal: spend 10 large and we'll send you $50. I can get a better deal from Lowe's.

Anonymous said...

Um, the mill levy. That would be the CITY portion of property taxes, which are regulated by the CITY.

Anonymous said...

12:32 -- Yes, I do remember Daub taking a hard line with the firefighter's union. We need him badly to do the same with our pension problem.

Suttle ain't going to do it -- not after they gave him his largest contribution. What will $30,000 buy you? A mayor who doesn't really want to address the spiking problem, which everyone else agrees is out of control.

Anonymous said...

Where are these Suttle people getting these lame arguments?

"Did you hear Daub lowered taxes!? I mean, who wants that?? Can I get an Amen, people?"

Anonymous said...

Woaaaah a Hal Daub ad that isn't entirely negative?? Are we sure it was paid for by Daub...?

Whoever was asking it's Dr. Benjamin Alvarado.

Geosuser said...

Suttle was on KFAB this morning on the Grow Omaha Show...otherwise known as Vokal's biggest backers show. Suttle was at his moronic best and just refused to answer any direct questions on any of his "plans". His response was "Don't give me statistics, I just feel my plan is best". He got very testy when pressed and continued to reveal he's completely clueless on any subject.

macdaddy said...

Anon 4:21: and the city levy is 0.4% which on a $150,000 home (the median home price) is $600. That's all Daub has to work with. Now I have no problem if he wants to refund anyone their tax money, but with his proposal you have to spend money to save money. I just think it's a gimmick proposal and I'd be willing to bet Lowe's will get you a better deal. Daub should be careful what he tosses out there, especially if he's trying to be the responsible candidate.

Wow...Peffer has an attack ad out on tv against Thompson

Anonymous said...

Daub supporters are stealing signs in south Omaha.

Anonymous said...

9:07 lol.

Anonymous said...

9:07 -- I think not.

On the other hand, Suttle operative Dr. Benjamin-Alvarado from UNO has called for "undocumented Latino residents" in South Omaha to "organize a campaign to get rid of all of the Daub signs in South Omaha and recycle them appropriately the evening before the election." His words. Yeah, that would be illegal.

Anonymous said...

macdaddy -- You're talking about one point of Daub's 18-point economic plan. Yes, it would do something, multiplied by the hundreds of thousands of residents who live in Omaha.

And Suttle's plan is what? Nothing? ...You're proud of that?

And before you go calling Daub a "dictator" for coming up with a plan, remember he's been meeting over the past year with thousands of Omahans and over a hundred neighborhood and community groups to come up with these plans. How good of a listener is Suttle when people's ideas go in one ear and out the other? Is he suddenly going to learn how to listen to people once he's elected?

Anonymous said...

...he hasn't during the four year's he's been sitting on the city council, approving the yearly budgets which have taken the city to the brink of bankruptcy.

Anonymous said...

Daub 44%
Suttle 39.5%

- a good source

but a lot of people I talked to said they are definitely voting for Jim Suttle.

Anonymous said...

I don't care about the polls I am voting for Suttle.

Anonymous said...

Can't stand Daub I am going with Suttle

Anonymous said...

Why vote for Suttle? In sunday's World-Herald, he said he would "listen to the owners of the new stadium and solicit suggestions from Omaha taxpayers." in searching for tenants for the DT stadium

Remember, it's owned by the City.

Anonymous said...

let's put someone new in, Daub has had numerous chances.

Macdaddy said...

Anon 9:37: lay off the drugs, son. The word dictator appears nowhere in my posts. As I have stated before, suttle is a ridiculous candidate and would be very bad for Omaha. However, suttle has been the front-runner and still may be. Daub cannot give Suttle opportunities if he wants to win. It's late and there are still many undecided voters. No one knows what is going to turn them. Gimmicks don't help Daub.

Anonymous said...

Suttle is being advised by a Communist-Socialist friend of Fidel Castro.

UNO Professor Avarado is a key Suttle aide and is currently meeting with Raul Castro. Look into it, its true.

Ask the UNO Latino Studies department, I am not making this up.

All I know is that at the Florence parade today, Jim Suttle was NOT in a good mood! At the end of the parade he whizzed by us Daub supporters in his little sports car and gave us the DIRTIEST look I've seen in a long time. Maybe because we were at least 50 people on that one truck and that was just one group of MANY Daub supporters that marched in the parade. Suttle had what? Maybe 30 people show up to walk with him? Hal had about 200!

Anonymous said...

The charge of stealing Suttle signs in S. Omaha is bogus. Disappearing from "inside" stores? During business hours with no one watching? And why? They aren't even worth recycling.

Don't settle for Suttle!

Anonymous said...

11:56 -

So Daub had 200 people out walking in a parade the weekend before election day? Sounds like a waste of precious volunteer resources to me.

Anonymous said...

Sure those Suttle signs are being stolen? Not the property owners taking them down?

Anonymous said...

Suttle has about as many new ideas as Jim Esch -- meaning he doesn't have any new ideas and is trying to ride the way of Obama popularity into office.

He's essentially the new Mike Boyle, a man who's wife is the one with the true political ambitions.

Anonymous said...

1:55 -- No, 200 is an exaggeration, but it was definitely 10 times Suttle's crew.

And that was Daub's 'B team.' The 'A team' was going door-to-door.

Anonymous said...

Typical Hal Daub having an "a team" and a "b team". Way to respect your volunteers!

Anonymous said...

Typical nit-picking from the other side. I think everyone who was part of the B team was pretty proud to be there, including me.

And typical circular logic from the Suttle crew as well. So is it good to prioritize walking precincts or not?

Remember when Mayor Hal Daub cracked down on the big NCAA basketball office pool at City Hall?

Another brillant initative of Hal Daub!

Anonymous said...

Remember when Hal put his crony Scott Knudsen in charge of bringing businesses into the enterprise zones? Knudsen had filed bankruptcy several times but apparantly that qualified him in Hal's mind as a the one to attract all this new business into north and south Omaha.

Scott's one initative on the enterprise zone board was to seek a pay increase to his own salary!

(He does do a good job driving the red Daub sports car during campaign season though)

Anonymous said...

Quit nit-picking about Hal Daub and start offering your own solutions. Oh wait, you have none.

Anonymous said...

Anony 6:14,

You still have me laughing from the prioritizing walking precincts comment.

I'm a Democrat and am laughing because I know it to be absolutely true.

If it was anyone else other than Suttle, I would be crying for the poor field advice he is getting from the "consultants".

Anonymous said...

Man, you Suttle people are nasty. Happy Mother's day to you, too. Why don't you offer something positive, besides "We'll figure all that out later" and "Hal Daub sucks!" ???

Anonymous said...

No more cranky Hal, just Suttle the drooling idiot. You can keep that change.

Anonymous said...

We have 3 teams. One making calls, one going door to door and one walking in the parade. Daub has 3 teams, A, B and C.

Anonymous said...

Besides, the team walking could also make calls. I have!

Anonymous said...

At least Hal has enough supporters to split them into teams. Where are all of Jim Suttle's supporters? Oh yeah, he doesn't have many.

Anonymous said...

anon 7:32...No, no, no...it's teams red, white and blue :)
