Tony TV: Iraq

Here is the latest TV ad from Tony Raimondo:

Not a lot of words.

Not much detail (though he has given a time table of one to three years to get out of Iraq).

Sounds lots like Ben Nelson.

Then there's that awkward arm fold.

And all the while Kamp Kleeb is strangely silent...

(More from Leavenworth Street on all the other campaign-related stuff soon...)

Still waiting for that Iraq plan from the Republicans for the coolest war ever.......guess we will keep waiting.....forever..........

Hey anony,
It's difficult to implement your Iraq plan if you don't get the most votes.
So what did you think OF THE AD?

Anonymous said...

I don't think he looks comfortable on tv.

Anonymous said...

Kinda looks like a republican on tv.

Wonder how many little boys and girls have lost a mommy or daddy so far this year to this fabulous war.

Oh, and how much are we paying at the pumps today?

Kleeb's commercial coming out tomorrow.

And it's difficult to implement a plan when you have obstructionists in the White House, and Republicans in the House signing pledges to never vote for anything Bush doesn't approve of, and at the level of a veto proof minority.

I like Kleeb's better.

Mel --- if you check the numbers more sevice men and women lost their lives --- leaving little kids during the Clinton years than during the Bush years.

But then again we don't count if a Dem is in charge -- do we Mel???

The 2007 numbers haven't been released by the military yet, but here are the estimated numbers in war zones:

Afghanistan: 116

Summary - even though only 6 years have been officially reported, there are more military deaths in the Bush Administration. If the pattern continues, there could be an estimated total of over 11,000.

Hope that helps you.

Hey Lisa, what's happening.

I'm going to go ahead and count those 8,792 deaths towards Clinton, since it was his administration's careless attitude toward Osama bin Laden that more or less resulted in 9/11 and the global war on terrorism.

I'm going to have to ask you to go ahead and come in on Saturday to determine how many of those 2,973 deaths for on 9/11 should count for Bill as well.

No need to talk about your flair - you have plenty of that - but I do need to ask you about these continued TBS reports.

Did you get the memo?

Hey Lisa
Should we start counting casualties for WWI (Wilson-D) WWII (FDR-D) Korea (Truman-D) and Vietnam (JFK, LBJ-D)? I'll have my Congressman call CRS for you tomorrow for that report. Should be interesting. Just saying....

Would someone please stand up and call the Democratic Party the party of pacifism?! This is the principle from which they are operating. Can you imagine how the Dems today would have reacted to the Battle of the Bulge? Or D-Day? Or Iwo Jima? I cringe to think what happens to our national security when pacifists take control. Someone prove to me the Dems aren't pacifists.

Lisa --- looks like the same report. Guess it it how you define "is"!!!! But a life is still a life in the real world!!!

For more information on military losses from 1980 through 2006 see the following website:

http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf

As tragic as the loss of any member of the US Armed Forces is, consider the
following statistics: The annual fatalities of military members while
actively serving in the armed forces from 1980 through 2006:
1980 ......... 2,392 (Carter Year)
1981 ......... 2,380 (Reagan Year)
1984 ........ 1,999 (Reagan Year)
1988 .......... 1,819 (Reagan Year)
1989 ......... 1,636 (George HW Year)
1990 ......... 1,508 (George HW Year)
1991 .......... 1,787 (George HW Year)
1992 .......... 1,293 (George HW Year)
1993 ......... 1,213 (Clinton Year)
1994 .......... 1,075 (Clinton Year)
1995 ......... 2,465 (Clinton Year)
1996 .......... 2,318 (Clinton Year)
1997 ............ 817 (Clinton Year)
1998 ......... 2,252 (Clinton Year)
1999 ......... 1,984 (Clinton Year)
2000 ......... 1,983 (Clinton Year)
Clinton years (1993-2000): 14,000 deaths
2001 ............ 890 (George W Year)
2002 ........ 1,007 (George W Year)
2003 ........ 1,410 (George W Year)
2004 ........ 1,887 (George W Year)
2005 ............. 919 (George W Year)
2006.............. 920 (George W Year)
2007......899 (George W Year)
George W years (2001-2006): 7,932 deaths
If you are surprised when you look at these figures, so were we.
These figures mean that the loss from the two latest conflicts in the Middle
East are LESS than the loss of military personnel during Bill Clinton's
presidency; when America wasn't even involved in a war!
We are even more shocked to read that in 1980, during the reign of President
(Nobel Peace Prize winner) Jimmy Carter, there were 2,392 US military
fatalities!
These figures indicate that many members of our Media and our Politicians
will pick and choose the information on which they report.
We all know that Pravda (aka the US media) present only those 'facts' which
support their agenda-driven reporting. But why do so many of them march in
lock-step to twist the truth? Where do so many of them get their
marching-orders for their agenda?
Consider the latest census, of Americans. It shows the following FACTS about
the distribution of American citizens, by Race:
European descent .......................... 69.12%
Hispanic ........................................ 12.5%
Black .............................................. 12.3%
Asian .............................................. 3.7%
Native American ............................. 1.0%
Other .............................................. 2.6%
Here are the fatalities by Race; over the past three years in Iraqi Freedom:

European descent (white) .............74.31%
Hispanic .................................... 10.74%
Black ......................................... 9.67%
Asian .......................................... 1.81%
Native American .......................... 1.09%
Other ........................................... 0.33%
These statistics are published by Congressional Research Service, and they
may be confirmed at: http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL32492.pdf

Yeah except the REAL number of deaths you are reporting is false.

Here's the real numbers

2001 = 891
2002 = 999
2003 = 1228
2004 = 1874
2005 = 1942
2006 = 1858

There are other factors which affect the number of deaths in any given year, one is the total number of troops serving.

The Reagan and GHW Bush years as well as the carter years had some high numbers due to the higher total number of people serving.
Verses any war going on. If you look at the numbers of deaths NOW
verses the numbers of troops serving you will notice the percentage of deaths per the total manpower is increased, mainly due to the war(s) since 2001.

Paul ---------- so based on your REAL numbers --- the Clinton years loss of life was disproportionately high because he cut the troops numbers were slashed so drastically.

Shall we all call Bill a murderer???

Gwen, is that "is" question about life, "what a life is?"

"But a life is still a life in the real world!!!" Gwen.

Is that what I can expect your sign to say at the next Pro-Life event I attend?
